SIGN THAT YOU LOVE YOURSELF

I am a dental surgeon who is concerned about the health of the people.
Kindly take time out to read this piece and make sure you and everyone you know benefit from what I'm about to discuss. In 9 years of my practice of dentistry,I have seen a number of deaths occurred which could have been averted.
I want to discuss early presentation of your health conditions to the appropriate quarters,by that I mean orthodox medical practitioners and not paramedics/herbalists.
Paramedics are supposed to direct the afflicted person to the right place but this is not common in Nigeria where some paramedics think they are up to the task therefore patient either gets to the hospital late or never.
You will certainly take your spoilt shoes to the cobbler and not a tailor, likewise your plumber been called upon to fix your sinks so why take your medical conditions to other places and not the hospital?.Instances whereby the doctor is the last to know of the disease condition after several fruitless efforts of non medical personnel especially herbalists abounds .This definitely yields no positive result rather cases are worse at the time of presentation to the doctor.
Please be informed that the causes of diseases are numerous and no one is immune to it therefore if you notice any strange occurrence in any part of your body kindly present at the hospital close to you for evaluation.
Imagine a 21+year old female who is educated presenting at the clinic with 2years history of jaw swelling .The swelling started as a small nodule and was increasing in size.
The question is at 6months why didn't the patient present when the swelling was small? If the patient had presented then, that lesion would have been removed with ease,at affordable cost and bearable treatment option. But presentation at advanced stage will necessitate the resection of patient's jaw. This is obviously under general anesthesia, associated with discomfort and morbidity.Esthetics is impaired, cost of treatment and possible reconstruction is exorbitant. I can go on and on.
Early presentation of your condition is the only sign that you love yourself, pls bear this in mind. Make use of this message and let your friends benefit from it by sending this link to your loved ones.

Diabetics and Dentists

Diabetes predisposes patient to periodontal diseases like gingivitis, periodontal abscesses, dry mouth, oral ulcerations, development of opportunistic infections like fungal infection and lichenoid drug reactions. It is to be noted that dental care forms a part of management of diabetics as dental infections can complicate the diabetic status and vise versa.

Mouth:window to the body

You see through the window to the outside. This can be likened to the oral cavity as the window through which you view the general health .Certain systemic diseases present early signs in the oral cavity e.g HIV infection,Leukemia amongst others. These signs include:
Oral ulcerations
Dryness of the mouth
Peppery sensations
White plaques
Small white/red swellings
Oral pigmentations
Which of these have you noticed lately?
Present your case early as this may be the beginning of a serious problem.

Do you have a bad breath?

If you
1.Do not have an ulceration in your mouth
2.Do not smoke cigarette
3.Do not consume alcohol
4.Are not on any medication for a systemic disease eg.DM
5.Are not an ulcer patient
6.Are not plagued with body odor
7.Have not just eaten onion or garlic
8.Have been told that your mouth smells
Then poor oral hygiene is the reason for your bad breathe
Please consult your dentist for utmost care.
